Installing Office Forms Server 2007

We can replace Office InfoPath 2003 with web enabled forms. It will contribute to remove costs of Office InfoPath 2003's upgrade and maintenance as well as to provide a central location to store form templates. Let 's implement a Forms Server.

Adding Office Forms Server process to a server farm
A forms server will be added to a new server farm:
Preparing a service account like “formsvc” from AD
 Preparing a database server
 Installing .net framework v3.0
 Installing IIS 6.0 and enabling asp.net 2.0
 Installing Forms Server 2007
Running SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard
Setting up Forms Server to a new server farm
 Creating a web application
 Creating a SSP(Shareed Services Provider)
Enabling InfoPath Forms Services on SharePoint v3 Central Administrator

Deploying a form template to Office Forms Server process
The type of form template that you use determines who is responsible for deploying it.

User form template   A user form template can be deployed by a form template designer who has design permission on the site. If a user can create a document library, he or she can publish a form there. This type of deployment is for form templates that do not contain managed code.

Administrator-approved form template  The deployment of an administrator-approved form template requires additional permission levels and may be coordinated among the following roles:

Form template designers, the people who create the form template
Farm administrators, the people who upload the form templates after verifying that they do not contain errors
Site collection administrators, the people who activate the form templates, making them available to be used as content types in a document library

The following is uploading process:
Publishing a form template file in a browser-enabled InfoPath template using Publishing wizard
Uploading a form template into Forms Server on SharePoint v3 Central Administrator
Activating a form to a Site Collection on SharePoint v3 Central Administrator

Verifying InfoPath Forms Services
You can confirm that InfoPath Forms Services are working on the Forms Server. The  following is the process:
 Opening  a portal home page
Going inside Form Templates by clicking View All Site Contents
Editing in a browser in a form library
Confirming a InfoPath form in a browser: See a screen shot as shown below:
