I have been working on an auto workflow system for SharePoint and in the process have developed an additional page during the multiple upload process which allows selection of users.  To do this I have used the people picker for which there are four types of person / group – user, security group, distribution list and SharePoint group.  When testing the SharePoint user field I noticed that you cannot pick distribution lists from AD – only the other three types.  This  is very annoying.  If anyone knows any more about this then I'd be interested to know … is there any way to control it?  I couldn't find anything but it has only been a brief look.
