Time Zone an Daylight saving configuration in SharePoint Services 2003

Sunday, April 9th, 2006

Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services supports a unique mechanism for Daylight saving configuration for each Time Zone. This information is stored in and used from a separated file named timezone.xml in 60Config folder. You may want to change this configuration for a given Time Zone. For example, the start date and time and the end date and time for daylight-saving time in some time zones are different each year, or for another example, Iranian government decided this year to using no daylight saving time!

You can change the default configuration by editing the mentioned file. Refer to the following article named “How to configure time zone information in Windows SharePoint Services by modifying the Timezone.xml file“ to get more info on how to configure daylight saving time for your Time Zone.
